A space designed for comfort

Our SPA has an ergonomic mineral bath and oak furniture, designed so that bathing and grooming are a calm moment rather than a source of stress. Every animal is handled patiently, without rushing.

Products suited to sensitive skin

We use products made for animals, chosen not to irritate sensitive skin. If your pet has allergies or is being treated for a skin condition, tell us when booking so we can adjust the care.

Inside a veterinary clinic

A bath is a close look at the skin, ears and nails. If we notice anything unusual, such as wounds, parasites or signs of an ear infection, we let you know, and the veterinary team is right there.

What the care includes

Every animal is different. We adapt the service to size, breed, coat type and temperament, and tell you beforehand what we will do.

  • Bathing and brushing

A bath with a product suited to the skin and coat, and brushing to remove dead hair and work out tangles before they become a problem.

  • Trimming and styling

Clipper or scissor cut, depending on the breed and your preference. In breeds with continuously growing coats, regular grooming prevents matting, skin irritation and discomfort.

  • Nail clipping

Overgrown nails change the way an animal puts its paw down and can split or become ingrown. We trim carefully to avoid the sensitive part of the nail.

  • Ear cleaning

Cleaning of the outer ear. If there are signs of an ear infection, such as a strong smell, redness or discharge, we let you know, because then what helps is a consultation, not a clean.

  • A pace your pet can handle

Anxious or older animals, or those that have never been groomed, may need more time or breaks. We adapt the pace to each one.

Signs it is time

For most dogs, a bath every 4 to 8 weeks is enough. Some signs tell you it is time sooner.

  • The coat has mats or tangles the brush can no longer work out
  • It smells soon after the last bath
  • Nails click on the floor or catch on rugs
  • It is shedding heavily during the moulting season
  • Hair covers the eyes or is dirty around the mouth and paws
  • It is a breed with a continuously growing coat, such as a poodle, bichon, shih tzu, yorkshire or maltese
  • Warm weather is coming and the coat is very thick

“Muito atenciosos e educados. Todos foram excepcionais, principalmente a menina que me atendeu na recepção, e a veterinária. O cuidado com a minha gatinha, sempre muito pacientes e prestativos, disseram-me toda a informação que eu precisava de saber.”

Frequently asked questions

Let us clear everything up, openly

How often should I bathe my dog?

It depends on breed, coat type and lifestyle. On average, every 4 to 8 weeks. Dogs that spend a lot of time outdoors or swim may need it sooner, but bathing too often dries the skin.

When should my dog be groomed?

Breeds with continuously growing coats, such as the poodle, bichon, shih tzu or yorkshire, need regular grooming to prevent matting, skin irritation and discomfort. For other breeds, brushing and bathing are usually enough.

Is grooming only cosmetic?

No. Tight mats pull the skin and hide wounds and parasites, and a dirty, damp coat encourages infections. Looking after the coat is looking after the skin and your pet's comfort.

Should I shave my dog in summer?

Not always. In double-coated breeds, such as the husky, German shepherd or golden retriever, the undercoat helps insulate against heat, and shaving can do more harm than good. For these dogs, a thorough brush to remove the dead undercoat is what helps.

Do you bathe cats too?

Yes. Most cats look after their own coat, but there are times when a bath or a deep brush is needed: a long coat with mats, a cat that got dirty, or an older cat that no longer grooms as before. We adapt handling to each cat's temperament.

My pet has sensitive skin or allergies. Can it be bathed at the SPA?

Yes. Our products are suited to sensitive skin. If your pet is under dermatology treatment or has a shampoo prescribed by the vet, tell us when booking so we follow that advice.

My pet has a dermatology appointment. Can I bathe it beforehand?

We prefer you did not, in the two to three days before. A bath removes from the skin what we need to look at under the microscope. Book the bath for after the appointment.

Can I bathe my pet at home between visits?

Yes, with a shampoo made for dogs or cats. Human shampoos have a different pH and can irritate your pet's skin. Dry the coat well at the end, especially between the toes and around the ears.

How much does a bath or groom cost?

It depends on your pet's size, the type and condition of the coat, and the service you choose. We tell you the price when you book.
